The Kunstkamera, now Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography is significant and remarkable museum because it was the first museum established in Russia. Peter I decided to open a museum which will exhibit his collection of scientific objects. At the moment number of exhibits exceeds 2 millions.

This collection was only a room if curiosities in the beginning, but now it is an astonishing museum showing unique exhibits that help you to imagine in details a life of different nations. It has a numerous collection of animal and even human curiosities, dissecting room and much more. The exhibition divides into several themes: North America, Japan, Africa, China and Mongolia, India and Indonesia, Australia and Ocean.

The most outstanding exhibit you will see during the tour is the head of Willem Mons, a friend of Peter the Great and brother of his mistress. He was one of the closest Peter's friend, but was accused with bribes and a relationship with tsarina Ekaterina. He was quartered and his head was preserved and still exhibits.
