Kolomenskoe

Kolomenskoe is located in the southern part of Moscow and used to be a royal estate for several years.

Development of the palace and other local buildings began with white-stone church, built to celebrate the birth of Ivan the Terrible. This church is called "White Column" and it's the oldest building on the territory.

If you visit Kolomenskoe, you will be excited to see all buildings on the territory - they were built hundreds years ago without the use of nails, hooks or saws. It's truly an "eighth wonder of the world." The Great Wooden Palace, which is the most amazing building in Kolomenskoe, was demolished in 1768 by the order of Catherine II, but fortunately a model of the building survived, and in 2010 the Palace was rebuilt approximately 1 km away from it's original place.

Between the Palace and White Column church there is a huge park, and you will enjoy walking around the park, apple trees garden and embankment. You will discover how the Russian Royal family used to live, including their household items and other items at the exhibition opened in a new Wooden Palace.
